32 weeks

•How far along?: 32 weeks

•How big is baby?: Callie is a big girl! 4lbs 13oz right now.

•Weight gain: I've gained 28 lbs so far.

•Stretch marks?: Battle scars? I'm almost afraid to write it for fear I will jinx myself, but I have no stretch marks, which makes this girl very happy.

•Maternity clothes?: I wear all maternity pants and most of my tops are maternity too. I can get away with wearing some of my regular tops. I also wear many non-maternity dresses.

•Sleep?: Still sleeping well. I wake up regularly 3-4 times a night to pee. But I go right back to sleep. Getting more and more uncomfortable though and Callie girl will only let me sleep on my left side. If I dare lay on my right side, she goes nuts moving all around until I turn over. I've heard you're not supposed to sleep on your back, so I try to avoid that. I really can't wait to sleep on my stomach again!! I miss that. I sleep with a regular pillow between my legs and I keep it up under my belly too. The wedge pillow is no longer working for me...my belly is too big for it I guess.

•Food cravings?: sweets, sweets, more sweets!

•Movement?: All.the.time. Seriously. In fact, in the pictures above, she was moving the whole time as I took them.

•Labor signs?: Nope. I shouldn't be yet though, so that's good!

•Belly button in or out?: Oh, it's out! Don't believe me...you can see for yourself here.

•What I miss: Being able to do certain things on my own. Like lift the 40 lb dog food bag to fill the containers or lift the file folder boxes in my office or move the big shelf in the nursery to a different place. It really bothers me to ask others to do this for me and/or to have to wait on other people to do those sort of things for me. I can still do it, but know it is risky for me to do, so I don't! I also miss my stomach muscles. Seriously? I can't hardly get off the couch or out of bed without a whole lotta effort!

•Milestone: I'm 8 months now!! Wow!!

Scratch that, she's big!

We had another ultrasound yesterday. Today we are 32 weeks along. YAY!

You may remember that last time our u/s tech so nicely let us see our baby girl in 4D at no extra charge. We were thinking/hoping that maybe she would do the same for us this time. We had a different lady this time, so we were thinking that probably wouldn't happen. Courtney asked how much it costs to do 4D and she said it is $125 extra and you get a DVD and blah blah blah....Courtney was standing behind her shaking his head no at me, I'm sure knowing that I was about ready to jump on that! :) So, I asked her if there was any way we could get just one little, tiny peek at her in 4D...we didn't need all that other stuff, just one tiny peek. She obliged. Which made me very happy.

Callie had her hand up by her face most of the time, and in this one, she looks like she's trying to get that thumb in her mouth. Can't tell yet if she has mommy's big thumbs. HA! I hope she does. Although that means she will be teased greatly in elementary school, but that just builds character. :)

She eventually moved her arm and we got this full face shot.
She's definitely got daddy's lips. And we are hoping her nose is just smooshed and not really that big! Yeah I said it....you were thinking it.... ;) She's still about the cutest thing I've seen EVER!!

All this time, my doctor has been saying that my belly measures big because of my fibroids, which is still part of the reason, but it's also because she is BIG! Right now she is 4lbs 13oz. The average 32 weeker is 3lb 12oz. So, she's roughly a pound bigger. The ultrasound estimated delivery date, based on her size, is Sept 13. The tech said that doesn't change our due date. I'm still due Sept 28.

Until then, we will just sit back, relax, and wait to see when Callie decides she is ready to enter this world!

Single digits!!!

We've hit the single digits!! 9 weeks until baby Callie will be here! I am 31 weeks today.

We had a doctor appointment yesterday. My belly is still measuring 3 weeks larger than it should be because of my fibroids, which my doctor says is completely fine and nothing to worry about. I've had fibroids for years. They are high (above my belly button) right now and haven't caused me any pain or trouble at all. My doctor says the only time they could be a problem is at delivery, but since mine are in the position they are, they won't get in the way then either. So, I'm not worried about that. Callie is not measuring big (according to the last ultrasound), just my belly because the fibroids do take up room in there.

Her heartbeat was 152. I will never tired of hearing that sweet heartbeat.

And we scheduled our last ultrasound!! It is next Monday. I will be 32 weeks then...well a day shy of 32 weeks, but close enough. That will probably be the last time we see Callie before she arrives. I can't wait to see her again.

On another note, the heat is really starting to get to me. It's H-O-T!! I am still walking the dogs at night but we have to wait until about 8:30 or so to go because of the heat. Then we come back and water the plants in the flowerbeds and cool us all off. It's my favorite part of the evening. Because it's so hot, I might not fix my hair again until I go back to work after Callie comes! Yes, I mean AFTER I am out for maternity leave. ;) Blow-drying my hair just takes too much out of me. And it's just too hot to have my hair down all day. It's ponytails or my hair in a clippy from here on out.

I am still really enjoying pregnancy although I am not feeling as good as I was now that I'm in the third trimester. My tiredness is back and, like I said, the heat is getting to me. I've had a few "episodes" where I felt like I was going to pass out and that is just not fun. Again, doctor is not worried about it at all. Says to stay hydrated (even though I am!) and take it easy. Hopefully when school starts back, these won't come more frequently. It seems to happen when I rush around very early in the morning to get someplace. Yikes. I just keep juice and something quick to eat on hand, which helps.

I'm starting to see that I will probably be very ready for this baby to come as I get closer and closer to my due date...meaning as I get bigger and bigger and more uncomfortable. It has just recently become hard for me to bend over. In fact, if I drop something, it's got to be really worth it for me to spend the energy bending over to pick it back up. HA!

Until next time, we are counting down single digits and so excited about that!

growing, growing

Callie weighs 3 lbs now. That's according to babycenter.com, which I love! I would love to say that I've only gained the 3 lbs she weighs, but that would just be crazy! Actually, I am right on track with where I need to be for me to gain 1 lb a week from here until the end and I will gain 35 pounds with the pregnancy. I'm perfectly good with that amount. Which means, if you're keeping score, that I have gained 25 pounds at this point. Which is healthy, but nuts to me! It's weird to see a tens place on the scale that I've never seen before. So strange. But quite liberating, as I've said before, to know that I am supposed to be gaining weight--those numbers are supposed to be going up on the scale. My clothes that once fit are supposed to not fit anymore.

Speaking of, I cannot believe some of the items of clothing that I thought would never fit me...they were so big...and now they really don't fit me. But for the opposite reason. I've gotten too big. I've had many friends give me maternity clothes...thank the good Lord for that...and I would look through that stuff and toss pants and shirts to the side because those items would never fit me. And now, yep, they fit.

In fact, here I am in a shirt and pair of pants that I thought would never fit! :)

30 weeks 2 days

I have also bought many things that used to fit me. Let's take this shirt for example...
I was a wee 19 weeks there. ;) I thought I was showing so much. I wore this exact outfit the other day and the shirt barely covered the panel on the maternity pants. Which is quite unflattering...to have that panel on the pants show. HA!

That brings me to maternity pants...
I am a big fan of the panel maternity pants. Like these.
I really can't stand to have anything tight on my waist at all and the panel pant really has no waist, so it's more comfortable for me.

Remember this?
Oh this pic makes me giggle. I was about 23 weeks along at this point.
Not a big fan of a waistband like this. It just fits me too tight and hits me in all the wrong places. As you can obviously tell!

Anywhoo...

Callie and I are growing, growing and happy to be doing so!

Our boys

I’ve always heard animals can sense something is coming when a woman is pregnant. Our dogs definitely know something is going on. Braddock especially. Immediately after I got pregnant, he started following me everywhere I go. He isn’t normally that way. He’s gotten much more snuggly since the tunnel incident (you might remember it if you’ve kept up with my blog long, however, I can’t reference it because I blogged about it before I accidentally deleted my blog. *sigh*) but he has still been the dog that sleeps on the couch all night when we all go to the bedroom. He could have really cared less where we were in the house, he would stay where he wanted to be. Lambeau has always wanted to be with me wherever I am. Not Braddock. But now? Now Braddock is by my side all the time. No exaggeration. All the time. If I’m up, he’s up with me. If I’m walking back and forth from the bedroom to the laundry room putting in laundry, he’s walking with me. If I’m going to the bathroom, he wants to come too. It’s so funny. When lays with me, he often puts him head on my belly. He can sense something is different and did immediately.

Now that I’m getting the nursery all ready, I’ve been letting them sniff around on the things we have in there already. I’ve read to play the toys that make noise for them to let them start to get used to all that. Once we have more of those kinds of things, I will do that as well. They are both very tolerant and good around little kids. I’m not worried about them being aggressive or mean at all. I’m just thinking that having a new little one around might be a little strange for them at first. I would love for them to know that it’s going to be a little strange for Courtney and me too! HA!

Pretty sure this baby stuff is going to rock all of our worlds for a bit. I know the boys will love her though. I really can’t wait to see our boys' reaction to our girl.
