Maternity pants and pedicures

I wore maternity pants for the first time today. Yep, I sure did! And I might never go back to real pants. For real. I was so comfortable today! Now, you may be thinking that it’s too early for me to be in maternity pants…and for the most part, I am not ready for full-on, cotton-paneled maternity pants. But I am having to rubber band most of my regular pants, which is not the most comfortable, so I opted for maternity pants today. With a small band around the waistband. Comfort is the only way to describe it. Ahhhh.

I got to spend some time with my HS girlsfriends this weekend in Dallas. We had good times, good food, good fun! I always enjoy being with them. It’s so neat to see how much our lives have changed over the years and how we are able to stay close through it all.

I did some maternity clothes shopping this weekend with my girls…well, with some of my girls. A few stayed in the car to nap. We were worn out from our pedicures! HA! Actually, they were worn out from talking so long and staying up so late the night before. But, I digress. Where was I? Oh, maternity shopping! Well, the shirts I bought aren’t maternity, but they are the style that will allow me to wear them for a long time as my belly grows. More importantly, I can wear them now over my rubber banded jeans.

Here I am in my first pair of maternity pants. We are 10 weeks and 6 days. My students are very excited about the pregnancy. Today some of my 6th grade girls said that the boys now believe that I'm pregnant because they can tell that my belly is getting bigger. It's so weird to be able to hear that comment and not be offended by it. It's actually quite liberating. :)

As of right now I have not gained any weight on the scale. However, this body is definitely changing! Our next doctor appointment is Monday, March 15. The first day of spring break. I am ready for spring break!

I am so ready for spring break because we just finished our first week of TAKS testing. And I am proud to say that I survived my first TAKS testing as a counselor. I have THE BEST job in the world. I love, love, love my job. The TAKS test is an unfortunate part of the school counselor’s job. But that is one reason I love my job even more…because my principal handles most of the testing parts still. But, even so, there was a lot to be done on my part. I survived! It went well and all those secure materials are boxed up, turned in, and on their way to TEA as we speak. That makes this girl happy. We have another round of tests at the end of April, and then again at the end of May.

Okay, so it's 6:30 which means it's about time for me to head to bed. ;) Night you guys!
